Very seletive recording of a birdsong early in the morning on the begining of april. The city ambience was heavily processed, so when the car appears it sounds quirky. Clean sounds of twistling a 3/4 full dark chocolate bar (200 grams in full) in it's plastic wraps. Lastly there is a pure snap of one choco piece in half, which is just awesome. The chocolate is moderately thick (approx 1 cm) and it is originally meant for baking.

One of my favorite sounds is that of leaves skittering across a street on a crisp fall day. . . This, however, is elusive and tricky to record. However, here is a recording that i made this past friday october 19th, 2012 in a small town in southern illinois. It's not perfect, but i'm happy with it. Recorded one wonderful morning at the shores of lake issyk kul, kyrgyzstan. Three hours from its capital bishkek,the lake with its little bit salty water and the mountainous landscape is a wonderful place to rest and relax. Uh-1 helicopter does one flyby then approaches and flies directly overhead. It kicks up some sand as it goes over and then lands on a ship, about 100 meters away. Capoeira mestre calango was nice enough to do a couple of short recordings on the berimbau for me. A berimbau is a one stringed instrument with the string made from the inside liner of a truck tire, it has a claxia(sp?) a shaker with it and is modulated by placing the gourd against the stomach and removing it. Done with hdp2 and two sennheiser mics 66 67, was in 24 bit 96khz, downconverted to 16b at 44. 1, a relatively clean recording at a very high level.

It's a recording of a bicycle trip. A rather quick one. Gaining speed, bicycle wheels, chains, pedals, my breathing and cars passigng by are all audible. Some woman says "dzień dobry" in the background. The wind blows int the mics a bit. Recorded with a zoom h2, originally 96khz/24-bit wav, edited and normalized with audacity. I made this while hunting some thunder strikes (my bike'n'thunder series).

For this one, the young couple did it on a morning. There were birds/dogs, planes, neighbor people close by, cars/trucks, and even people in my household got in the recording. Did my best to remove all the noises and only keep the noises coming from that couple. The sex noises are around 2:45-5:15. They weren't that sexually loud since it's morning. Not sure how long they were actively on bed this time either.

This is one of my favorite sounds to open my live sets with and is featured in my track water's bomb, as well as in the intro to the digital juggernauts album, "giant killer robots. " to make it, you use a sample of a plane flying over, i used a 707, and a djm-500's pitch shifter fx. As the sample gets longer, turn the pitch to the high end, then to the low end. Thousands of cicadas occur in endless cycles for roughly one minute, at least where i was in my backyard in san antonio, texas. At the beginning of the cycle, they truly sound like a jet with engines idling on a runway, growing louder as it maneuvers into a take-off position. After several more seconds, the soft whirring grows louder and louder for about ten seconds or so, and at the closing of the cycle crescendos into a a sustained cacophony like crickets on crack.

One of a series of heavily processed sounds of a squelchy stress reliever toy. I ran the original recordings through s-layer, the sample-mangling plugin from twisted tools, combining and mulching everything into new, dynamic sounds with lots of interesting, muddy contours.

Privatedareno2 - 3patches - 3min. A challenge kindly started by alienxxx \(^_^)/. Patch 1: the patch that was… a patch i did yesterday. Got that one for free, so to speak. Patch 2: inspired by distant airplanes. Had this in mind. Now i patched up my idea. The wind (or what you decide to call it) is controlled by alm pip slope. New module – for me. Used an external effect, the zoom ms-70cdr. Patch 3: read about feedback. I decided to do a feedback patch. First i made one using oscillators, but i did not manage to do something nice. So i used filters. The first filters feedback is generating triggers. Oh, yes, and i used my sampler (soundmachines ul1uloop). So three patches. I merged/mixed them together in audacity. All sound unedited. Just normalized and i have applied fade in/out – and mixed them together - as written.

Here is a simple yet usefull reel for your morphagene. I sampled various noise source from various modules to be used into my shared system, as this instrument does not contain any classic one. This reel is arranged like this:splice 1 : left = white noise / right = pink noisesplice 2: left = metallic noise / right = digital noisesplice 3 : left = tuned noise 1 / right = tuned noise 2splice 4 : left = tuned noise 2 / right = tuned noise 3splice 5 : left = tuned noise 4 / right = tuned noise 5splice 6 : left = tuned noise 6 / right = tuned noise 7splice 7 : left = downsampling noise sweep / right = fluctuating random noise sweep. Most sound comes from the verbos electronics random sampling module. The tuned noises are made of white noise fming the verbos harmonic oscillator, each are one of the eights harmonics being recorded. Enjoy !.

One morning i woke up and found i had a mouse/rat trapped, but still alive. It was making squeaking sounds, so i recorded them, edited out the noise as much as i knew how to, and amplified the whole thing. The mouse was disposed of shortly afterward. This sound was recorded with a zoom h4n recorder in stereo, in. Wav format. Please feel free to use "mouse squeaks" as you see fit.

I have made a patch that generates drones. Lets call this generative. . . I use feedback on my spring reverb. I only use one filter. The drone is structured by a triangle lfo and 2 comparators. It's tricky to balance the patch to give varying and interesting results. The drone is made with a 100% analog modular synth.

A recording of cameron, my cat, in the upstairs hallway letting us know she caught one of her toys. She howls like this most every night usually when we're downstairs watching tv. I'm guessing she feels we're not paying enough attention. Cut out all the silence between the yowls and added splice markers for use in a make noise morphagene.

This is the sound of trying to squeeze the last dregs of liquid hand soap from a 60-oz plastic container. It has no excuse for sounding this rude. Recorded opportunistically under non-ideal circumstances (including noise floor and clock ticking in background), using the built-in mic on an iphone 7. No processing was done except splicing multiple takes into one file, and transcoding to wav.

I needed a quick fix for a bomb sound effect, and i think i made this one okay. Honestly, i just went "pkhoooooo" into my laptop mic, bass boosted it, slowed it down, pitched it down, and ran it through a low-pass filter in audacity. Just a long, reverberating and multi-faceted fart sound made with my ample arm, sock over the microphone, in a small sound booth. No extra noises. Editted a few together from different tracks to create the 'overlapping' effects of the smaller ones, added a few effects, and was used in a 'toon of mine (kind of 'butthole of the world' volcano going off, suffice to say). Not as wet sounding as i thought it was going to be, though. Can be cropped, etc.

A handful of spaghetti cracked into half. I don't know how to use this but often an injury in film foley is just breaking a celery or something else. Recorded with a tascam dr-40. Sfx for a mail being delivered through a mail slot. It is a recorded with a hinged piece of metal screwed to wood because i no longer live in a place with a mail slot but needed the sound. Sounds a little thinner than a real one but it served my purposes. Recorded on a sd 702 with an ntg1 in a small video studio with cement floor and treated walls and ceiling. The beefier dropping mail sound was recoded in a small hallway with tile floor.

I recorded this with my yamaha pocketrak at the paramount theater in seattle on feb. 29th, 2016 with one track duplication. This is the applause for stewart copeland and the seattle rock orchestra.
